Pupil Premium
In 2022-2023 academic year Katherines Primary Academy has been allocated the following Pupil Premium funding:
Pupil Premium £98,335
Recovery Premium £9,570
Pupil Premium 2020-2023
The Pupil Premium Grant is allocated to schools on the basis of the number of students on roll known to be eligible for Free School Meals currently or who have claimed within the last five years, as well as pupils who have been adopted or looked after by the Local Authority.
Katherines is committed to ensuring that all of our children make the best possible progress and achieve highly in all subject areas. Our pupil premium strategy is designed to support disadvantaged pupils to achieve this goal.
A proportion of our funding is invested into high-quality teaching. Evidence shows that investment made in high-quality teaching has the greatest impact on closing the disadvantage attainment gap and at the same time will benefit the non-disadvantaged pupils in our school. We intend that non-disadvantaged pupils’ attainment will be sustained and improved alongside the progress for their disadvantaged peers.
We have also planned for the use of wider approaches to provide support for non-academic barriers that may impact success in school.
The approaches we have adopted complement each other to help pupils excel. To ensure they are effective we will:
- Attendance for disadvantaged pupils rises so that more learning can take place
- Trauma Perceptive Practice (TPP) embedded across the school community, developing secure attachment
- Enhanced learning and cultural capital across the curriculum for disadvantaged pupils.
Support for disadvantaged pupils will be given according to need, this could be short burst or over a longer term such as a term, two terms, a year or more. It may take the form of individual or small group teaching and may be an evidence based intervention. It can be additional resources, enrichment or access to opportunities that enhance learning and or aspiration.
